Ah, papaya is one of my favorite fruits. In fact, I am so glad that we have a papaya tree growing in our yard here in Oahu.

Not only will have a fabulous place to stay but you will also have a papaya tree in the yard that you can pick fruit from and enjoy while you take in the beach or just sit outside and soak up the sun.

So, while this fruit isn’t native to Hawaii, I want to share with you more about this papaya tree, and why papayas are so good for you.

Why is Papaya Good for You Anyhow?

Do you still have your gallbladder?

I know, it’s an odd question. However, you should know that the papaya contains some health benefits for your digestion, and that is just one of the reasons we have a papaya tree in our yard here at our Luana Iki Cottage.

This fruit is highly regarded for its fiber content although it certainly doesn’t taste like fiber, and it has strong cancer fighting properties to it as well. It’s amazing what you eat that you don’t take the time to learn about right?

This tree is great to have around because if I am working at the cottage and I need a snack, I just go out and grab a papaya! You can too, after all you are our guest!

The truth is, we love our landscaping, and with that being said, it’s fun to grow papaya! So, if you have gone out to dinner to experience what Hawaiian cuisine has to offer, then grab a papaya when you get back, and let it help you digest!
