North Shore Oahu is what we call the closest thing to heaven. In fact, those that generally visit here, come here because they are looking for some respite away from the rush of life and the every day hustle and bustle of work and family obligations.
It could be that you are not familiar with our home state here, and really, we don’t think of it as a state, but rather a state of mind!
Vanessa and I would love to share with you a bit more about the North Shore Oahu, so that you can catch a glimpse of how peaceful life is here, and what you can expect when you spend some time with us this year.
Where in the World is North Shore Oahu?
As you already know, Oahu is in Hawaii, but where exactly is North Shore Oahu? If you were to look at a map for specifics, you would be able to identify it with a few areas namely:
- Waimea Bay
- Halewai
- Waialua
It’s obviously the north coastal area, and it lies in between Ka’ena Point and Kahuku Point. So, where are we in relation to these 3 major areas of the North Shore? We are in the area known as Halewai.
However, many that live here refer to North Shore Oahu as the surfing mecca of the world. I know firsthand how great the surfing is here because I surf almost every day weather permitting!
Yes,it’s a great life, and we aren’t hard to find!
Surfing in North Shore Oahu
So, how does surfing in North Shore Oahu sound to you?
If you love to surf, you will truly enjoy every time out surfing on the Banzai Pipeline, which is on the Ekuhai Beach. This is the spot where the best surfing happens, and it’s where competitions among the best surfers take place too.
There are three main competitions that take place in December including the:
- Triple Crown of Surfing
- Reef Hawaiian Pro
- and the O’Neill World Cup of Surfing
With these competitions late in the year, it is no surprise that Hawaii stays busy year round. If you have never surfed and you would like to learn how to ride the waves, there are plenty of surfing schools available for those who wish to learn while visiting.
