I have also used craigslist when finding a vacation rental for my parents in law when they were visiting New York City. Their bed and breastfast was $92 per night! If you stayed at a hotel in nyc, they range from $192 and up!
(when contacting the bed and breakfast owners, go with your gut. Women are born with instincts, so use them! If you have a good feeling about the place and its a bargain go for it!)
On your modest budget, go to Turtle Bay Resort and call (858)541-1117, request for the Condo units w/pool on the beach. Turtle Bay, also accommodate a Great Luau, Large pool with bar on the beach with beautiful scenery. Great Mai Tai’s, Blue Hawaii’s and must try their famous Long Island Ice Tea. Moreso on the beach you can rent jet ski’s, paddling boats, snokeling equipment…etc. lots of fun for young and the old, even a horseback riding tour…ENJOY! In addition you can go to the Romantic, famous Haleiwa Shave Ice Stand, and Kahuku Large Fresh Water Prawns/Sweet Corn Stands along the Farmers Roads 5 min from your Vacation Home. I took my first sweetheart to these places, and we bought some pawn’s and shave ice, great budget, on the beach watching the romantic sunset…Beautiful and Enjoy the Hawaiian Aloha, and Must go to Turtle Bays Hawaiian Luau Party.
